Position Summary

The Terrain Park Manager is responsible for the overall management, design, and safe operation of all Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort terrain parks. This leadership role oversees all daily park operations, construction, maintenance, staff management, and strict compliance with "Smart Style" guidelines to ensure a premier and safe guest experience.

Reports to: This is an hourly position that will report to the Mountain Services Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Personnel: Lead, hire, train, schedule, and supervise all Terrain Park staff.
  • Safety: Serve as the primary safety officer, enforcing Smart Style guidelines and resort protocols.
  • Inspections: Perform and document daily feature inspections and risk assessments; communicate all safety issues immediately with Ski Patrol.
  • Design & Construction: Manage the strategic design, layout, and construction of all terrain park features, ensuring creative and progressive layouts for all ability levels.
  • Maintenance: Directly oversee and participate in the continuous daily maintenance and upkeep of all park features (run-ins, take-offs, landings).
  • Coordination: Coordinate Park construction and maintenance plans with the Grooming team and act as the main liaison with Snowmaking, Ski Patrol, and upper management.
  • Infrastructure: Manage the installation and maintenance of all required safety signage, fencing, and trail markings.
  • Resort Support: Provide assistance and support to other Mountain Operations departments as necessary.
  • Patrol & Service: Actively patrol the park to monitor conditions, promote safety etiquette to guests, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Administration: Manage the department's operating budget, control inventory, and handle all required daily documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Events: Plan, coordinate, and execute all terrain park-related special events and promotions.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional terrain park experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a resort or related field is preferred.
  • Must be a skier or snowboarder and be able to confidently ride within all terrain parks.
  • Thorough knowledge of terrain park grooming techniques, construction best practices, and "Smart Style" principles.
  • Possess strong leadership, organizational, and effective communication (radio and interpersonal) skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours in an alpine environment (weekends and holidays are mandatory).
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including hiking on uneven terrain and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license required.
